Katy (Ying-Ting) Chen

Katy (Ying-Ting) Chen was a former U.S. Patent Examiner at the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) and a registered patent agent. Mrs. Chen has extensive experience in patent application prosecution and searching, as well as trademark and copyright clearance searching and prosecution. 
Mrs. Chen has examined patents at the USPTO technology Group 1700 (abrasive and compositions) and has examined hundreds of applications relating to chemical compositions and their applications, abrasive/grinding articles, and compositions and method for making the same. Mrs. Chen interviewed with patent attorneys from worldwide companies, such as 3M, Saint-Gobain Abrasive, INC., Samsung Electronics, Co., Ltd., Dow Global Technologies LLC., Element Six (UK) LIMITED, and KAO Corporation. 

Prior to the USPTO, Mrs. Chen was an IP manager in Law and Mediation Offices of Elizabeth Yang. Mrs. Chen prosecuted patent applications and responded office actions in mechanical devices and chemical compositions. Mrs. Chen provided IP consultations for utility, design, PCT patent applications, trademark, and copyright and managed IP team members (paralegal/ Ip assistant) to ensure the quality of the prosecution for patent and trademark applications.
In addition, Mrs. Chen has prosecuted over thousands of patent applications. Mrs. Chen successfully assist the worldwide clients to develop their products or technologies into patent applications and enhance the strength of their existing patents.
